25 Years Of Franchising: Our Franchisees

In 1994, High Touch High Tech sold their first franchise location in Wyckoff Bergen County, New Jersey. Over the course of 25 years we have grown to having 36 franchise locations in 11 countries, with a remarkable, and passionate team of franchisees. Each of our franchisees brings their extraordinary background, experience and skillset and pairs them with High Touch High Tech’s hands-on science mission, creating a fun and exciting learning environment for each student involved. With the help of our magnificent franchisees and partners, over 16 million students participate in a High Touch High Tech program annually. We are so thankful for the franchisees that have share our vision of inspiring students in the STEM fields each day.

We have a diverse team of experiences, backgrounds, skillsets and cultures, but one thing about our franchise team is universal; a love for inspiring students. Science is universal, as is curiosity and drive for discovery in young minds. We dream of being able to reach each and every student with High Touch High Tech’s brand of hand-on science programming, and our array of franchise locations allow that goal to become tangible.

Our franchisees each value STEM education for their own reasons. Radiant Rita of High Touch High Tech of New England believes that utilizing science expands your understanding of the world around you, because everything is science. Tsunami Tommy of High Touch High Tech of Northern New Jersey says that “being able to think in scientific terms allows you to think more clearly and utilize the different parts of your brain.” It’s no secret that there is a gap in science education in schools, and each High Touch High Tech representative works each day to fill that gap to more wholly prepare the next generation of engineers, researchers, developers and mathematicians.

Regardless of background, our franchisees are working tirelessly to inspire and engage young minds. “I love being in the classroom, the kids understand where I’m coming from because I teach with so much passion! I genuinely want their minds to open up to what I’m trying to teach,” said Seashell Shalini of High Touch High Tech of Santa Clara County and South Bay, California.  Miss. A of High Touch High Tech North Florida and Southern Georgia says, “when you hear someone say, ‘Miss. A, this is the best day of my life,’ or ‘Miss. A, I want to be a scientist when I grow up.’ It’s really rewarding because it means we’ve clicked that light switch on.” The purpose of High Touch High Tech is to be a resource to teachers, partnering with them to create a ‘living laboratory’ within their classrooms, leaving our students with a lifelong devotion to learn and love science.

While each franchise location participates in High Touch High Tech’s copyrighted programming, they are each left with autonomy of their business. We do not believe in one size fits all business models, but instead provide the support, tools and the product for each of our franchisees to be successful. Polymer Pat of Western Los Angles County said, “It’s not like a McDonald’s franchise where everything is a square peg in a square hole. I get to be creative in how I implement the programs and the way I run the business. I have the freedom to run things the way I feel is most beneficial to my particular area.” As a franchise we provide a proven successful business model and have resources to optimize each franchise’s progression. “High Touch High Tech has done very well offering support in so many different areas to us [franchisees]. Program development, marketing, and all the support structures we can reach out and tap into are available to us,” said Seashell Shalini. Each of our franchisees have their own High Touch High Tech adventure, and we use each of these experiences to build as a company. Our franchisees are a part of a community and utilize their sister franchises as sources of support and companionship.

Without each of High Touch High Tech’s franchisees we would not have made it to 25 years. Our franchisees make up the backbone of who we are, what we do and illustrate our encouraging future.
